Noting that fasting should not be practiced anywhere, Dr. Alemu said that the planting and cultivation of vegetables and fruits will be successful if it is done carefully. "Lack of space should not be a factor in development," he said.

He said the field visit in Wolayita Zone, Worbichoko Kebele is encouraged by individual gardening. He stressed the need to strengthen the work.

For her part, Meseret Meskele, President of the Women's League of the party, said, “Our food is from our backyard; "Our health is from our food."

He said more than 6 million women are expected to participate in the project.

"The role of horticulture in reducing the cost of living, which is a national challenge, is not trivial," she said, urging stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities by strengthening women's participation.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by league members and stakeholders from all regions and city administrations and further discussions are expected.

During the ceremony, field observations were held at Wolayita Sodo town, Worbichoko Kebele and Sodo Agricultural College with the idea of ​​“My Food From My Backyard”.
