A consultative forum is being held in Injibara town to make the Bure Integrated Agricultural Products Processing Industrial Park fully operational.

Addis Ababa: 05/09/2014 (AMI) More than 58 hectares of land has been allocated for 22 projects out of 168.5 hectares of land prepared by Bure Integrated Agro-Industrial Park.

Rich Land Biochemical Productions, a private limited company, entered the park with two projects. It has completed the construction of one project and is producing protein powder and cooking oil and supplying it to local and foreign markets. Other projects are under construction.

More than 110 hectares of land has been prepared in the industrial park, which is fully equipped and awaiting the arrival of investors.

Economic Cluster Coordinator with the title of Deputy Chief of Staff, Ainalem Nikuse, said the park has a problem with the supply of electricity and agricultural inputs. He said he has decided to work with the Bureau of Agriculture, Electric Power, Banks and other stakeholders to address this issue.

The meeting was attended by the Ethiopian Investment Commission, the Amhara Industrial Parks Development Corporation, the Amhara Regional Industry and Investment Bureau, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Zonal administrators, representatives of various higher education institutions, representatives of banks and power companies, and other stakeholders are also participating in the consultation.
