The bureau warned that it would take the necessary action against public transport service providers who do not provide proper service

Addis Ababa:  The Addis Ababa Transport Bureau has warned that public transport service providers will refrain from doing so in connection with the fuel price hike and will take the necessary action against vehicles and drivers who disrupt the transport service.

In a statement to Fana Broadcasting Corporation, the bureau said that in connection with the fuel price adjustment, any public transport service provider, including Sheger, will be available at the designated service line at the assigned tariff only.

He said the bureau will review the process and respond to any issues that need to be addressed.

Sheger Mass Transit Service has called on donors to enter the line as soon as they know they will be out of contract.

If there are any public transport drivers who do not cover the lines of the eleven transport branches, who do not cover the tariffs, who do not cross the line, who do not hang the tarpaulins, who do not post tariffs, and who do not allow the drivers to go out of service. The bureau urges them to serve the community properly and appropriately.

He also stressed that the Addis Ababa Transport Bureau will take irreversible action against drivers who do not comply with the rules and regulations.

He also said that the bureau will carry out its emergency and field monitoring, surveillance and clock monitoring activities more than ever before to ensure that the community is not subjected to unnecessary expenses and harassment.
