 Recently, 1,780,120 quintals of additional fertilizer will be imported

Until April 8, 2014. The Ethiopian Agricultural Works Corporation has announced that it will transport 1.780,120 quintals of additional fertilizer in three ships.

From January 28 to March 28, 2014. Out of the 3,724,030 quintals of fertilizer that arrived at the port of Djibouti, more than 3.2 million quintals of fertilizer has been transported locally and distributed to farmers, the corporation said on its social media page.

According to the corporation, the reason for the increase in fertilizer prices this year is due to the sharp rise in fertilizer prices in the world market. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ethiopian Agricultural Works Corporation is importing 12,876,623.5 quintals of fertilizer.

Workshop on Higher Education Development Projects Opens

A two-day workshop on higher education development project management has opened.

Presidents, vice-presidents and heads of university development plans and projects from universities across the country are participating in the workshop.

Sixteen university presidents, vice presidents and other officials, including Addis Ababa University and Haremaya University, attended the workshop.

The project was launched by the Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Fitsum Assefa.

He said the forum will be instrumental in developing public investment guidelines.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Berhanu Nega, on his part said the government should use caution in view of the events that have taken place in the country in recent years.

He said the management of development projects will be important to maintain the quality of education in order to take into account the changes in the world.

State Minister for Planning and Development, Dr. Nemera Gebeyu, also spoke on the importance of managing higher education development projects.

They also raised key issues in the management of higher education development projects, according to information from the Ministry of Planning and Development.
