Addis Ababa and the Chinese city of Shanghai have agreed to sign a sisterhood agreement, said Mayor Adanech Abebe.

The mayor stated that they are making a successful visit to the cities that have achieved remarkable and rapid growth in China.

During his visit to Shanghai, in a discussion with the city's mayor, Gong Zheng, the two cities signed a sisterhood agreement and announced that they have agreed to work together in people-to-people relations, trade, investment, tourism, technology innovation and transfer, and other areas.

In a message posted on her social media page, the mayor announced that she visited Shanghai's transportation management, technology innovation, museum services, waste management center and logistics services.

He stated that during the visit, he found useful ideas and experiences for the cities of our country. "Especially, they help to strengthen the changes we are achieving by making Addis Ababa a model for other cities and creating international competitiveness."

"We will continue to serve with greater dedication according to our promise to make Addis Ababa a comfortable and internationally competitive city for its residents by adapting international experiences to the reality of our cities!" He added.
