According to the Ministry of Health, the spread of the HIV virus in Ethiopia is high in cities. Through various activities carried out in the past years, the rate of HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia has been reduced from 46% in 2010. In addition, the death rate has also decreased by 52%.

At present, the spread of the disease varies in different parts of society, gender, rural and urban, and the prevalence rate in cities is 7 times higher than in rural areas. Mrs. Merte added that there are gaps regarding the use for medical services.
