A recent study has revealed HIV aids is still a concern in the third world countries.

It is said that the prevalence of HIV virus in urban areas is 7 times higher than in rural areas.

 

According to the Ministry of Health, the spread of the HIV virus in Ethiopia is high in cities. Since the discovery of HIV AIDS in Ethiopia, various efforts have been made as a country to prevent and control the spread of the virus, the representative of the Ministry of Health's Infectious Diseases Control, Mrs. Mrte Getas, told Bisrat Radio.

 

Through various activities carried out in the past years, the rate of HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia has been reduced from 46% in 2010. In addition, the death rate has also decreased by 52%.

 

At present, the spread of the disease varies in different parts of society, gender, rural and urban, and the prevalence rate in cities is 7 times higher than in rural areas. Mrs. Merte added that there are gaps regarding the use for medical services.
