It has been heard that an alternative proposal has been made to hold a referendum to answer the questions that are being raised in Dredawa.

It has been heard that a request has been submitted to the federal government to hold a referendum for Dredawa administration to become an independent regional government or to be merged into one of the Somali and Oromia regions.

The question was presented to the two councils saying that if it is not possible to solve the problems of lack of budget, unfair distribution of resources and growth reduction, the Dredawa administration is facing a problem.

"It is said that Dredawa's coming directly under the federal government by charter has hurt her greatly.

While other states share the revenue they generate with the federal government on a formula basis, the tax generated from Dredawa goes directly to the federal government. Therefore, it is being requested that the regional issue be resolved so that Dredawa can fairly share and benefit from the large income it generates," said Dredawa's representative Mr. Abduljewad Mohammad to the reporter.

There are two members of parliament representing Dredawan, Abdul-Jawad is one of them.
