Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the National Logistics Council Honorable Mrs. Dagmawit Moges explained that the strategy is playing a key role in preventing waste of investment, business, project and equipment imported from abroad following the rapid economic growth of our country, as well as to avoid waste that may occur due to the growing production and productivity in the country. .

 

He stated that the National Logistics Council has been organized by law to include senior government officials and that it has been directed to directly monitor projects and programs arising from the strategy.

 

He stated that the council is implementing procedures to help modernize the sector and has started to achieve significant results. He pointed out that it is clearly stated in the national logistics strategy that a council should be established in the regions that works in coordination with the main council and includes the relevant institutions.

 

In the forum, regarding the national logistics activity and the importance of establishing a logistics council for regional and city administration, a wide explanation and explanation was given about the results recorded by the logistics transformation office expert under the leadership of the council.

 

The Head of Government of the Amhara Region, Dr. Yalkal Kefale (Dr.) thanked him for the presentation and pointed out that the national logistics strategy should be implemented as soon as it has been started in order to be effective. He said that since the production and productivity of our country is growing, it is important to establish a logistics system that can accommodate this and the role that the Logistics Council is playing in this regard is admirable. He pointed out that practical activities will be done by establishing a Logistics Council in our region as per the strategy.

 

Minister of State for Transport and Logistics Honorable Ato Denge Boru, Director General of Ethiopian Maritime Authority Mr. Yehlashet Nade, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Maritime Transport and Logistics Service Ato Roba Megersana and senior officials of the Amhara region were present at the meeting.
