Judiciary bodies of South West Ethiopia People's Region are recommending

Addis Ababa, December 11, 2015 A consultation forum of the Judiciary of the Southwest Ethiopian People's Region is being held in Jimma city.

In the forum, a consultation was held on the process of solving problems related to justice, and it was stated that corruption and corrupt practices are the problems that the society is currently complaining about.

The President of the Supreme Court of the People's Region of Southwest Ethiopia, Ato Kochto Gebre Maryam, said that if the problems related to corruption are not solved immediately, the society will lose confidence in the judicial institutions.

Therefore, they stated that by addressing ethical problems associated with the judiciary in the region, efforts are being made to give the people access to an independent judiciary.

According to the organizer of the forum, the president of "Just for All PF Ethiopia", Pastor Daniel Gebreslase, judicial bodies should work together to ensure justice and the rule of law.

He also mentioned that Ethiopia is a country with many conflict resolution traditions, and said that it is necessary to support these traditions with the law to promote justice, reconciliation and peace.

The President of the Supreme Court of Oromia Region, Ato Gejali Aba Smel, was present at the forum and explained about the good experience in the region.
