The office also mentioned that in eight months of the 2016 fiscal year, about 932 million birr was collected for the construction of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

Hailu Abraham, director of public relations and media communication of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Project Office, said that it is planned to collect more than 2 billion birr for the construction of the dam in the current fiscal year.

He pointed out that 931 million 984 thousand 102 birr has been collected in eight months of the fiscal year.

Out of this, more than 767 million birr was received from the sale of bonds and gifts, and more than 4.6 million birr was received from the support of the diaspora.
