The director stated that an earthquake of 4.9 on the Richter scale occurred on Mount Funtale; They confirmed that there was no earthquake in Addis Ababa city.

The director confirmed that the information being spread on social media that there was an earthquake in Addis Ababa tonight is incorrect; They also stated that there is no danger to the residents of the city.

The recent earthquake in the Afar region has also occurred today, and Professor Atalai Ayele, an earthquake researcher and lecturer at Addis Ababa University's Institute of Geo-Physics, Space Science and Astronomy, also told ABC Cyber ​​that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 occurred this evening.
