"Fiche Chambelala" festival of Sidama people was celebrated in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, "Fiche Chambelala", which is a turning point for the Sidama people and registered as an intangible heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), was celebrated in Addis Ababa.

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe, Addis Ababa City Council Speaker Mrs. Buzena Alqadir, Ministers, Sidama elders and natives of the region were present at the "Fiche Chimbalala" celebration at Friendship Square.

Mayor Adanech Abebe said in an article posted on his social media page that Ethiopia is the owner of many cultures and traditions.

He said that we have celebrated Fcheche-Chambalala festival in Addis Ababa, one of our cultural heritages registered as intangible heritage by UNESCO and a symbol of peace, unity and love.

They said that in Addis Ababa, which is our common home, we need to work together to promote our values ​​and pass them on from generation to generation.

 The festival is celebrated with various events that showcase the cultural values ​​and social activities of Sidman.
