Lt. Col. Abdisa Aga, who joined the Ethiopian army at the age of 14, fell into the hands of the enemy during the Italian invasion of Ethiopia and was made a prisoner of war in a house in the Addis Ababa area.

 

Although he was taken to Sicily, Italy and made a prisoner of war, Abdisa did not like to lose, so he escaped from prison with a special skill and freed other prisoners.

 

After the outbreak of World War II, Lt. Col. Abdisa Agha refused the citizenship request with many benefits, saying that he is an Ethiopian, when the British, Canadian and American governments asked him to join their army at a high military rank.

 

Addis Ababa has named a school and erected a statue in honor of Ayrese Hero, who praised the bravery of Ethiopians in the world square, to be a manifestation of his love for the country.

 

The Mayor of Addis Ababa, Mrs. Adenech Abebe inaugurated the school.

 

The program was attended by Colonel Abdisa Agan's family, father veterans and senior officials.
