Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) announced the successful completion of the green footprint project by planting 615.7 million saplings overnight.

The Prime Minister said that all Ethiopians had planned to plant six hundred million saplings until sunset today. They said that we are not going to let the sun go down without achieving what we set out to do, so we were able to plant 615.7 million saplings in one night. 

Children have planted their hope. Young people have shown their resilience. The elderly have left an inheritance. He said that Ethiopians left their homes from genius to genius and left an indelible mark.

We Ethiopians have done what has not been done overnight in other parts of the world with our strength and perseverance, the Prime Minister said in the good news he shared on his social media page.

Today we stand up for the balance of climate change. We have lined up to fight soil degradation. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) said that we are working hard to ensure food security. Today, the Prime Minister mentioned that 29.1 million citizens have planted saplings in areas covering a total of 318.4 hectares, where geospatial information has been obtained. He pointed out that the information about seedlings planted outside of what has been registered in the database will be disclosed continuously. 

He also conveyed a message of gratitude to all the citizens in order to express their gratitude for the amazing unity and perseverance of Ethiopians.

He also said that thanks are due to the leaders, experts and media institutions who have worked hard as a planning, monitoring and information network for our success.
