It has been announced that the study that was being done to remove the light rail line from Medan CMC has been completed.

According to a reporter close to the matter, the study conducted by the Addis Ababa Light Rail Company will help determine whether the railway line should be demolished or if there is another solution. The source of the information stated that the study was not made public, yesterday, Saturday, August 11, 2016. He confirmed that it will be submitted to the office of the Mayor of Addis Ababa.

He also stated that whether the railway line should be maintained or demolished requires a political decision and refrained from giving details.

It is said that the light rail line of the city is not providing the expected service and is an obstacle to the traffic flow of the city.

"We have been discussing with the leaders of Addis Ababa what we can do with the communication line from CMC," he said.

The Prime Minister stated that the road from Medan CMC is wide and after the ongoing discussion is completed, it will be able to accommodate four or five vehicles at a time and will ease the traffic. They also stated that many constructions are going on in the area and if a fast road cannot be built, the transportation problem cannot be solved and because of this, wasted time will also waste the country's resources.
