Hero athlete Tamrat Tola was awarded 7 million Birr and a gold medal

Tamrat Tola, the hero athlete who won Ethiopia's only gold medal in the men's marathon at the Paris Olympics, was awarded 7 million birr and a gold medal.

IFED President Sahle Work Zewde presented the award to the brave athlete Tamrat Tola. 

Also, 4 million birr was awarded to the athletes who brought silver medals to their country at the Paris Olympics.

An awards, motivational and dinner program was held at the National Palace in the presence of President Sahle Work Zewde and other senior government officials for the Ethiopian delegation that participated in the Paris Olympics.
