Girma Amente (Dr.) said that 11.9 million quintals of the fertilizer that has been purchased and delayed has reached Djibouti and more than 10.7 million quintals have been transported to the country.

He said that the work of transporting up to 200,000 quintals of fertilizer per day to different parts of the country is being carried out to quickly deliver the rest.

He pointed out that 10.8 million quintals have so far reached the hands of the farmers, including the winter crop. He stated that this is 68 percent of what should be delivered and the rest is being done to deliver to the farmers.

In the remaining days, he said, he will work to quickly distribute what has arrived at the central warehouse and transport the remaining 4 ships.

The minister also said that illegality has put pressure on fertilizer distribution and that illegality is more prominent than other times.
