     Guinea is a small country in West Africa bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Its population is estimated at only 13 million. 

  In this country, there are many people whose names are known in politics and in various fields. A woman's name stands out in the field of sports, especially in athletics.

   Her name is Domingas Togna. From the late 1990s to the early 2000s, she was a well-known athlete in her country at distances from middle to marathon. She was also the national record holder of her country in various distances. She represented her country in continental and international competitions. In 2007, she represented her country in the marathon at the 11th World Athletics Championships held in Osaka, Japan. In the following year (2008), she competed in the 1500 meters at the Beijing Olympics and finished 11th. She has personally participated in many competitions in different cities of the world, including the Diamond League competitions, and has achieved good results.

    It's been years since Domingas Togna stopped running. She is now 39 years old. It is not known what happened to her, but she was left empty-handed with all the money she had accumulated during her career. Poverty burdened her. Therefore, in order to cover the daily income of herself and her family, she is engaged in day work in the suburbs of Conakry, capital of Guinea, producing gravel.

    Talking about her life, she said, "I was not famous, but now I am an ordinary person. Everyone who knew and admired me back then, when they saw me at work during the day, they laughed and made fun of me. My younger ones, who are better than me financially, treat me like a child. I have no choice."
