With the theme "Let's work together to make hand hygiene accessible to all", our administration's Hand Washing Day was celebrated with various programs.

Mrs. Lemlem, Head of Health Office in Zabah, said during the opening of the program that we celebrate hand washing day mainly by raising public awareness about the benefits of hand hygiene in order to create a healthy society.

The chief pointed out that maintaining hand hygiene has a great contribution in the health sector by preventing infectious diseases and by developing the culture of hand washing in our society, it is possible to control various infectious diseases that are a long-term health problem.

The importance of hand washing day and a 10-year road map developed by the sector were presented to the participants and discussed at the forum organized to mark the day.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Head of the Education Bureau, Mrs. Muluka Mohammed, pointed out that the work done in schools has a significant contribution to make, and said that it will be done by involving various stakeholders to improve the awareness and resource provision.

It was stated in the forum that World Handwashing Day will be celebrated in various schools for 1 week and awareness activities will be strengthened.

A walk was held in addition to the platform organized for hand washing day, and senior leaders of the administration, leaders and experts of the health sector, religious leaders, partners and stakeholders participated in the walk and the platform.
