It is said that starting from 2017, pre-primary students will be taught English.

It has been said that in the 2017 academic year, English lessons will be offered to pre-primary students in both private and government schools in Addis Ababa.

It is known that the new curriculum that was implemented in 2015 requires children or pre-primary students to learn only in their mother tongue. 

But now, in the next school year, children will start learning English language, said the Minister of Education, Professor Birhanu Nega.

The minister said this at the 31st conference organized by the Addis Ababa City Education Bureau.

"In order to make the English language competent and competitive, we will make students learn English in addition to their mother tongue from pre-primary level," Minister Berhanu (Prof.) said. .

Since the implementation of the new curriculum in 2015, pre-primary students have been learning in their native language and now they will be learning English in the next school year. #Sheger FM
