"Code 2 vehicles will be moved in shifts. It will come into effect in 2 to 3 months," said the traffic management authority of A/A.

Code 2 vehicles are going to be moved in shifts to reduce the morning and night traffic congestion in Addis Ababa city.

It has been said that a legal framework has been prepared to allow odd numbered and even numbered Code 2 vehicles to operate in shifts.

The Traffic Management Authority of Addis Ababa said that within two to three months, a large number of Code 2 vehicles will be put on shift in the city.

"There is heavy traffic congestion around the time of entering and leaving work in the morning," said the office.

One of them, he said, is where Code 2 vehicles operate in shifts.

He explained that preparations have been made for Code 2 vehicles to operate in shifts and the legal framework has been prepared.

"This will improve the flow," the office said.

The Traffic Management Authority stated that there are more than 755,000 vehicles with Addis Ababa license plates excluding Oromia and Federal license plates.
