104 million birr was collected from the offices of the city administration, 37 million birr from sub-cities and districts, and 109 million birr from investors in the city, totaling more than 250 million birr in cash and in kind.

 

The support includes water bottles and animal feed.

 

In her speech at the time of handing over the aid, the mayor of the city, Adane Abebe, mentioned that Borena is known for its kindness and generosity, but it has been affected by drought for a long time.

 

Therefore, since it is not the responsibility of the state government to help the people in the zone, we have made the support to say to your people that we are on your side, he said.

The Deputy Governor of Oromia Region, Mr. Awelu Abdi, who received the support, expressed his gratitude for the support.
