The Deputy Prime Minister's social media page. "Today, in a unique and for the first time in our country, we visited the irrigated rice field in the Somali region and started harvesting," he said.

"There are more than seven areas where rice can be grown in our country, one of which is the Somali region," he said. 

"Rice production has started in Amhara and Oromia regions on a large scale, so we will work hard to repeat the results we achieved with wheat in order to be self-sufficient in food," he said.
