He also stated that the Ministry of Tourism is doing a lot of work to make the tourists visit the natural, cultural and historical resources of the country when they come to Ethiopia.

According to Minister of State for Tourism Ato Selesh Girma, September is considered as the month of tourism due to the fact that the attractiveness of the landscape is highlighted and there are a lot of festive events.

He pointed out that the World Tourism Day, which is celebrated every year on September 17, is a good opportunity to revive the tourism industry.

Ato Selesh mentioned that it is common to celebrate World Tourism Day every year in different parts of the country. This year it will be celebrated in South West Ethiopia.

It is remembered that the 45th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which is being held in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, has registered the traditional landscape of Gedo and the Bale Mountains as a world heritage site presented by Ethiopia.

There are currently 878 UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the world.
