The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr. Tagese Thafo had a discussion with the member of the German Parliament (Bundestag) and the Vice Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Mr. Herman Grohe and his delegation.

In their conversation; They advised on the existing bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Germany and the possibilities of future relations between the two countries. 

Speaker Tagese Kafo at the end of the discussion. He stated that Ethiopia wants to share experience with Germany in job creation and small and micro industries. 

The Speaker explained that Ethiopia has opened up its economy to foreign developers and that there is an opportunity for direct foreign investment in agriculture, mining, tourism and other sectors. He said that Ethiopia and Germany can work together economically and commercially.  

Regarding the current political situation in Ethiopia, the Speaker explained that it has given a wide opportunity to the equality of ethnic groups, the freedom of citizens and the development of democracy.

That there are situations that threaten the unity of the people due to wrong narratives created in the past years; However, he also explained that the government is working diligently to ensure that the issues raised by the citizens are answered through the National Consultation Commission. 

Mr. Herman, the leader of the delegation, said; The information we received from the council indicates that Germany expressed its determination to work together with Ethiopia in politics, education, peace, freedom and justice. 

He mentioned that the German parliamentary delegation's visit aims to strengthen the partnership of the parliament; He explained that it is possible to further strengthen the parliamentary and related issues of the two countries.
