The three-day investment forum was successful in attracting foreign companies: Investment Commission

The Investment Commission stated that the investment forum held in Addis Ababa for three days created an opportunity for foreign companies to engage in various investment sectors in Ethiopia.

The "Invest Ethiopia 2023 Forum", which was held in Addis Ababa for the past three days to promote Ethiopia's investment potential, ended today.

Ethiopian Investment Commission Commissioner Lelise Neme told ESA that the forum is where Ethiopia can promote investment options.

He also said that it enabled foreign and local investors who are engaged in the investment sector in Ethiopia to share their experiences.

He explained that the forum created an opportunity for new foreign companies to enter the investment sector.

Following this, he said, the forum was successfully completed by making investment agreements with other companies, including five huge international companies.

He pointed out that this will be a big part of the plan to bring more than 6 billion dollars in foreign direct investment in the 2015 fiscal year.

He also mentioned that protecting investment and solving the problems faced by the government is one of the issues that the government has given attention to the sector.

The Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Perfect Asefa, said that the government is implementing policies and various reform works to create a favorable investment environment.

He stated that agriculture, mining, ICT, tourism and manufacturing will be the key investment sectors in Ethiopia and called on investors to take advantage of the opportunity.

It has been announced that the Invest Ethiopia Forum will be held every year and it is said that the work of promoting Ethiopia's investment options through various methods will continue.
