East Gojam Zone has announced that it is working to provide transportation services to the 12th grade students who are taking entrance exams for higher education institutions.

Mr. Getahun Funte, Head of Education in East Gojam Zone, told Bisrat Radio that a task force has been established and is working on preparing vehicles and testing facilities for the 12th grade students taking the exams in East Gojam Zone. It has been stated that five institutes are being prepared where students will be tested in the zone.

It is known that the Ministry of Education announced earlier that the 12th grade national exam will be held in higher education institutions from September 30.

An update was made on the retail price of fuel

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Development announced in a statement sent to ABC that there has been an improvement in the retail price of fuel.

Accordingly, it has been decided that the retail price of petrol in Addis Ababa will be as follows from 6:00 midnight on September 18, 2015.

1. Gasoline per liter - 57 Birr from 05 cents

2. White diesel per liter - 59 Birr from 90 cents

3. Kerosene per liter - 59 Birr and 90 cents

4. Oil products that will continue to have their current price

4.1. Airplane fuel per liter - 76 birr from 87 cents

4.2. Light black diesel per liter - 43 Birr from 89 cents

4.3. Heavy black diesel has been decided to be 06 cents per liter - 43 Birr.

On the other hand, in the second phase, no price increase was added to the fuel used by the public transport vehicles that were selected to serve the public, which were embraced by the closed targeted subsidy system to benefit low-income citizens.

These vehicles have not only been allowed to continue buying petrol at the price of 41.26 Birr per liter and white diesel at 40.86 Birr per liter, but they have also received more than doubled subsidies from the government, so there will be no increase in public transport services until the price is improved in the next period, the ministry said.
