Ethiopia's green footprint program will be an example for other African countries - the African Union

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's Green Footprint Program is an example for other African countries, said African Union Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment, Ambassador Josepha Sacco.

According to Commissioner Ambassador Josepha Sacco, Ethiopia's Green Footprint program is an important step to deal with climate change.

He said that the program is being carried out by Ethiopia on its own initiative without any external support and this shows the country's commitment to the sector.

ESA reported that it has an important role in preventing drought and landslides.

They also mentioned that the program supports the African Union's "Great Green Wall" strategy to combat the effects of climate change.

He said that other African countries should learn from Ethiopia's experience as the Green Footprint Program is an effective solution to prevent climate change.

He said that Ethiopia's Green Footprint program should be strengthened and that support should be provided for this.

The African Union has announced that a three-day continental African climate summit will be held in Nairobi, Kenya next Monday.

The commissioner said that in this conference, African countries will raise their voice and take a common position to protect the climate.

He also explained that a consensus will be reached to implement the commitments made in the past to prevent climate change.

In particular, he pointed out that focus will be put on how Africa can come up with a solution on its own by breaking its dependence on foreign aid to protect the climate.
