Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) and Somaliland President Moses Bihi Abdi signed a historic memorandum of understanding today in Addis Ababa.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Federal Government and the Government of Somaliland is a framework for their future relations in various fields.

This memorandum of understanding realizes Ethiopia's desire to access the sea gate, expands the options of the sea gate, and strengthens the political, diplomatic, security and economic cooperation of the two sides.

The document also includes an approach to enhance their relations in the political and diplomatic spheres. This memorandum of understanding reaffirms the Ethiopian government's desire and position to work with its neighbors for mutual benefit.
