A square named after Addis Ababa in the German city of Leipzig was inaugurated at a ceremony celebrating the 20th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Leipzig and Addis Ababa.

The ceremony held in the historic heart of Leipzig was attended by the Mayor of Addis Ababa, representatives of the Ethiopian Embassy in Germany, Leipzig officials and members of the local Ethiopian community, including Leipzig Mayor Jung. 

Jung, the mayor of Leipzig, emphasized that the square will strengthen the relationship between the two cities.

Mr. Ashagre Gebrewold, the mayor's adviser who attended on behalf of the mayor of Addis Ababa city administration; He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the city administration, pointing out that the inauguration of the square will play a great role in the lasting relationship between the two cities and the two countries.

According to information from the mayor's office, naming the square in Addis Ababa not only commemorates partnership and common history, but also paves the way for future bilateral cooperation.
