Athlete General Berhanu and athlete Aster Arere qualified for the semi-finals in the 800m heats.

#Ethiopia At the 20th World Athletics Under-20 Championships, athlete General Berhanu and athlete Aster Arere, who qualified in the first round of the 800 meters for both sexes, joined the semi-finals.

The championship in Lima, Peru started this afternoon.

In the men's 800 meters qualifier held in the evening, Gen. Birhanu, who competed in Group 2, came first with a time of 1 minute, 49 seconds and 48 microseconds and directly passed to the semi-finals.

Athletes who finished one to three in each of the six categories qualified directly for the semi-finals. 

In addition, six athletes with the fastest times joined the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2016 at 6:00 PM.

In addition, the athlete Aster Arere, who represented Ethiopia in the women's 800 meters qualifier held in the evening, passed to the semi-finals.

Athlete Aster, who competed in Group 2, confirmed her passage to the semi-finals by finishing second with a time of 2 minutes, 04 seconds and 76 microseconds.
