Addis Ababa City Council celebrated the 17th Ethiopian Nationalities and Peoples Day

Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa City Council celebrated the 17th Ethiopian Nations and Peoples Day with the motto "Our national unity for our lasting peace".

In his speech at the ceremony, the Speaker of the Federation Council, Ato Pifdehu Teshager, said that as our country is a country of many identities and ethnicities, our unity based on our diversity is the cornerstone of our lasting peace.

The Speaker said that when we celebrate this year's Ethiopian Nation and People's Day, the fact that we have reached an agreement to peacefully resolve the unjust and destructive war that took place in the northern part of our country makes the celebration special and beautiful.

The Speaker of the Addis Ababa City Council, Mrs. Buzena Alkedir, said that this year's celebration of nations and peoples in Addis Ababa is being celebrated through discussions with all sections of the society, starting from the districts, about the national unity system.

Through this, the speaker said that the establishment of an institution capable of carrying the system and the understanding of the role of each citizen has been created in the system.

City administrations, district leaders, religious leaders, country elders and other community representatives were present at the event, according to information from the mayor's office.
