The Agricultural Bureau of the region has announced that more than 6.4 million quintals of wheat have been harvested in Amhara region during the summer season.

A wheat crop that has been irrigated in the summer to be harvested in Megdala District of South Wolo Zone of the region was visited today.

During the visit, the Head of the Amhara Regional Agriculture Bureau, Dr. Hailemariam Kifialu, stated that this summer alone, 213 thousand hectares of land were cultivated with irrigation.

The head of the office, who said that the crop has arrived and is being collected, said that so far, more than 187 thousand hectares of unripe wheat has been harvested and collected.

According to the official, more than 6.4 million quintals of crops have been harvested so far, and coordination is being done to quickly harvest the rest of the crops and complete the production.

ESA reported that the farmers were urged to prepare the fields for the upcoming harvest by harvesting the harvested crops as soon as possible.
