An agreement was signed to carry out the construction of a technology innovation center

Addis Ababa, September 18, 2016 (FBC) Ethiopian Electricity Service and China Civil Engineering Corporation signed a contract document to build a technology excellence center.

The construction will be built in the premises of the institution located in Kotebe and 9 billion 341 million 596 thousand 232 birr has been allocated for the project.

The agreement was signed by Ethiopian Electricity Service Chief Executive Officer Shiferau Telilana and China Civil Engineering Corporation's Ethiopian Branch Executive Managing Director Wu Jui.

When the center is completed, it will be of great benefit to make the service provided to customers reliable, efficient and modern, in line with modern technology, said Mr. Shiferau.

Wu Juin, on the other hand, confirmed that they will complete the construction of the center on schedule and hand it over with quality.

The center will have electrical technology vocational manpower training, research and excellence center, national distribution SCADA control center, distribution equipment inspection and laboratory facilities.

It also includes a modern meeting hall, bedrooms for trainees and guests, a cafeteria and various sports facilities, according to the electricity service information.

The center consists of nine buildings of different widths and heights, soccer field according to FIFA standard, running track, ground tennis court, volley ball, handball, basket ball, complete gym, various site constructions, internal asphalt roads and drainage lines.
