Ethiopia has never won a medal in 800 meters in Olympic history.

But this year, women are doing well.

The Ethiopian representatives of the forum, Tsige Dguma and Worknesh, successfully passed the two qualifiers and qualified for tonight's finals.

In the first round of qualification, Tsige Duguma led the time; Goldish Mesele had the fastest time in the third qualification and passed to the semi-finals last night.

Last night, Tsige Duguma came first from block one and Worknesh Mesela came second from block two in the qualifying round to cut the ticket to the finals.

Athlete Tsige Dguma from Benishangul Gumz region is surprising her athletic family.

It is remembered that the athlete brought gold medals for her country at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow and the African Games in Accra, Ghana.

23-year-old Tsige Duguma got the first buffer to bring the first medal of the 800m Olympics for Ethiopia, which has been struggling to reach the final.

The athlete has managed to attract the attention of the multi-sport family with her running style.

Even though it was Goldish Meslem who recorded her best time in the qualifying competition, she was not given an easy consideration.

Many are speculating that the two young athletes will be invited and bring home the historic medal.

Eight athletes will fight hard tonight for the three medals.

Kenyan Mary Mora is an athlete widely expected to win.

Mora's performance in the qualifiers earned her a place in the finals after winning the Budapest World Championships.

The athlete followed Tsge Duguman in the first round of qualifiers and followed last night's semi-final qualifier, Goldish Meselen, to qualify for today's final.

South Africa's Prudence Sekgodiso, who has been making waves in the Diamond League, is another athlete to watch out for.

South Africa's Caster Semenya is expected to be another winner after winning in London and Rio.

Britain's Kelly Hodkinson, the silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, was also not taken lightly.

The absence of Ating Mu, the winner of the Tokyo Olympics, is good news for the Paris competition.

Ethiopia is the only country to field two athletes in tonight's 800m final.
