Deputy Prime Minister Temesenge Tiruneh said that the determination and discipline of the leadership is essential to ensure the peace of the Amhara region and to carry out cross-cutting developments effectively.

A discussion forum on the performance of the 2016 fiscal year and the 2017 plan of the senior and middle leaders of the Amhara region has started.

Thank you Deputy Prime Minister.  He said that the leadership should work with determination and discipline to ensure the peace of the Amhara region and achieve breakthrough development results.

He mentioned that the state government has carried out many development works in the 2016 fiscal year despite the conflict.

For example, he mentioned the new Nile Bridge, Gorgora Eco Resort and others built by the federal government.

He mentioned that there has been a great result in the field of agriculture. They stated that they have collected better revenue than the previous fiscal year despite being in trouble with revenue collection.

He said that in the 2017 fiscal year, the management is expected to properly implement the plan prepared to overcome the existing problems of the region and ensure the benefit of the people. 

He pointed out that the leadership of the region should be committed to discipline in order to carry out the plan properly. 

According to ESA, they said that they should follow a result-oriented organization and management strategy in order to develop the talents that have been identified in the plan and turn them into wealth.

Therefore, he emphasized that the peace and development started in the new fiscal year should be strengthened and the potential and hope of the region should be transformed into actual results.
