The deputy mayor of Bishoftu city administration, Kegelene Dejene, told ESA that preparations are being made to develop the Hora Arsedi lake, where the Irecha festival is celebrated, in a way that preserves its historical and cultural content.

He pointed out that the development work will be completed within two years and said that this year, the starting budget of the project of 150 million birr has been set.

He stated that the project aims to make Hora Arsadi Lake more interesting for local and foreign visitors to enjoy throughout the year.

The deputy mayor explained that the development project mainly includes infrastructure expansion works, beautification work and other related activities.

He indicated that the design of the project is being completed, and stated that the development project is compatible with the nature of the area and helps to preserve the energy.

He said that it will help to increase the flow of visitors to the city and increase the income from the sector.
