Ethiopia's National Election Board has ordered a further investigation into the implementation of the plebiscite in the Walayta zone due to a difficult situation.

In the process, the Election Board has stated that in a small number of polling stations, activities that are considered as serious operational violations have been committed according to the law and relevant guidelines.

Therefore, the information we received from the board indicates that the board has ordered further investigation regarding the scope of the violations and the sites they cover.

The board has announced that it will give the final decision on the matter as soon as the investigation is completed.

The list of violations observed in the implementation process of the referendum in the zone is presented as follows:

1. The signature of the voters on the register during voter registration is different from the signature on the voting day.

2. The list of voters, signed in writing during registration and signed with fingerprints on the day of voting, appears in the records.

3. The list of voters, signed with fingerprints during registration, signed with written signatures on the day of voting, appears in the records.

4. Having the same signature signed for different voters registered in the voter register (during registration and on the day of voting).

5. The fact that a larger number of fingerprints than expected (during voter registration and on voting day) were placed on the voter register.

6. The voter's information has been filled in on the voter's register and their signatures have not been written or printed.

7. The fact that many voters who are 18-50 years of age and who are considered to be able to read and write have signed with their fingerprints.

8. Signed with a fingerprint on voter registration day and right marked on the place where signature should be signed on polling day.

9. Improper filling of voter information that should be registered in the voter register;

1. In a suspicious situation, the number of voters registered as voters in several stations and who voted on the day of the public decision appears to be equal.
