Minister of Planning and Development Fuzum Asefa (Dr.) discussed with the Ethiopian representative of Global Green Growth Institute

The Minister of Planning and Development, Fuzum Asefa (Dr.) held a strategic cooperation discussion with the Ethiopian representative of the Global Green Growth Institute, Daniel Ogbonnaya.

During the discussion, the minister emphasized that Ethiopia is implementing climate change protection through political commitment and measures.

In line with national policies, strategies and plans, plans that include various activities to prevent climate change are being implemented, including the implementation of green footprint, apart from holding conferences and workshops, brilliant results have been achieved in landscape construction and lifestyle, he added.

On his part, Global Green Growth Institute's Ethiopian representative, Daniel Ogbonaya, stated that the institute will continue to strengthen its support to continue its climate change mission in a systematic way and is in the process of shifting its approach from a project to a programmatic approach.

He also pointed out that the Institute would like to cooperate with the Ministry on key issues including the African Ministers' Conference.

On his part, Dr. Perfect Asefa appreciated the Global Green Growth Institute's contribution to climate change and requested it to strengthen its institutional capacity building support to the Ministry of Planning and Development.

At the end of the discussion, the Ministry of Planning and Development has agreed to implement the low carbon emission strategy set by the Global Green Growth member countries, according to the information we received from the Ministry.
