In 2009 The residents say that the road project, which was promised in the middle of the contract, has been delayed a lot.

It is said that the main reasons for the delay are the failure of the contractors to start work quickly and the security problem that occurred.

The road was started by three contractors and is 191 kilometers long, according to information from the Benishangul Gumuz Regional Road Transport Office.

Befkadu Seif, Road Research, Monitoring and Design Contract Management Directorate of the Regional Road and Transport Bureau said that the road will reduce the journey to the cities by more than half a kilometer.

Mr. Mentesnot Kebede, the team leader of the Asosa Area Projects Office of the Federal Roads Administration, stated that the road was divided into three lots and given to three contractors as a level two asphalt road.

They stated that the road from Asosa-Daleti will be built by Senan Construction, while the rest of the road from Dalti to Kamashi is owned by Eni Construction.

It is stated that the contractor who will build the other one in Lot 3 is Akir Construction.

The respondent stated that the road connects the three zones of the region with asphalt and crosses 6 districts.

He pointed out that they have been repeatedly warned, and the security problem in the area has caused the people to abuse and destruction of construction resources.

He explained that since the peace in the region is secure, discussions are being held with the contractors to continue the construction.

The respondent said that there is a concern that road construction resources and fuel supply may be a challenge.
