A delegation led by Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael made a working visit to Kenya

A delegation led by Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael, the current president of the East African Police Chiefs Union, has paid a two-day official visit to Kenya.

The Commissioner General held talks with his Kenyan counterpart, Inspector General of the National Police Service and President of the AFRIPOL General Assembly, General Japhet Kume.

In their discussion, they reached an agreement to jointly prevent cross-border crimes, especially terrorism, illegal human trafficking, drug trafficking, and illegal cattle trafficking in the border areas of Ethiopia and Kenya.

The delegation also held talks with the Kenya National Police Service Deputy Inspector General and Head of Criminal Investigation, Mohammed Al Amin.

The team members visited the Integrated Command Center and the Forensic Investigation Bureau under the office and agreed to exchange experiences on the technologies.

On December 8, 2022, Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael, who was elected as the President of the Association of East African Police Chiefs, visited the office of the association in Nairobi and the Counter-Terrorism Center of Excellence.

The information from the Federal Police indicates that they discussed with the workers in the office and the work done was presented to them in the form of a report.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Ethiopia, Bacha Debelem, was also present.

The members of the delegation are the President of the Ethiopian Police University, Deputy Commissioner General Mesfen Abebe, and the Commander of the Ethiopian Federal Police Administration and Development Department, Deputy Commissioner General Nebiu Danye, as well as other leaders of the institution.
