The National Election Board of Ethiopia has announced that the voting process of the 6th round of by-elections and re-elections in four regions has been successfully completed. 

The 6th round residual and re-election was held in Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, Somali and Central Ethiopia regions today.

Melatwork Haileu, Chairman of the National Election Board of Ethiopia, made a statement regarding the general election process.

He said that in the 6th round of the general national election, the election was held today in the regions where the election was not held for various reasons.

He mentioned that early preparations were made to make the election process free, independent and credible. He stated that the voting process for the remaining and re-election was conducted in the four regions, 29 constituencies and 1 thousand 218 polling stations.

However, in two polling stations, they said that the election materials arrived late and were postponed until tomorrow, ESA reported.

He explained that the voting started at 12 o'clock in the morning during the election process. They said that out of the 33 polling stations in the planting zone, Dangur polling station, the election has been postponed to tomorrow due to material delay in two polling stations. 

He also mentioned that in one polling station identical and nameless IDs were found and checked and action was taken.

When all polling stations where votes are cast are counted; He said that some of them are being taken to the constituency to be counted.

In general, the voting process was conducted successfully and well, the chairman said.
