67 children from Tigray are in custody among citizens who returned from Saudi Arabia

The Ethiopian government is planning to return 102 thousand citizens from Saudi Arabia in 7 months and the work of returning citizens is still going on. Ato Debebe Zewde, Director of Communications of the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission, said to Bisrat Radio that 62,355 citizens have been returned to the country in 171 flights so far.

Among the returning citizens, 59,727 have been reunited with their families. In this, more than 27,000 citizens have returned to Amara region, more than 18,000 to Oromia, more than 2,000 to the southern region and many citizens have returned to other regions.

Among the returnees are those who are not separated from their families in the Addis Ababa temporary detention center whose destination is Tigray region, among them 2,307 men, 254 women and 67 children are in the shelter.

It has been stated that nine detention centers have been prepared and are providing services for returnees in Addis Ababa. They explained that they are being provided with bed, clothes, food and drink, hygiene materials, medical, counseling, telephone and similar services.

Remember that there is a plan to return more than 100,000 citizens in the next 11 months; Ato Debebe added that he will work to bring the rest of the citizens back to the country by making a strong cooperation.
