The International Internet Management Conference works extensively on promoting the good image of Ethiopia

The Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Bele Mola, said that efforts are being made to promote the good image of the International Internet Management Conference that Ethiopia is hosting.

The minister also stated that further work is being done to host other international conferences.

He said that besides presenting the work that Ethiopia is doing in digital development at the conference, it will learn from the experience of other countries.

The 17th International Internet Management Conference has started today in Addis Ababa.

Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Bele Mola, mentioned that during his stay with ESA, representatives of various countries and institutions of the world have come to attend the conference. He added that this has a significant contribution to promoting the good image of Ethiopia.

He noted that Ethiopia has passed many challenges to host the 17th World Internet Governance Summit.

In particular, they mentioned that due to the current situation in Ethiopia, there was pressure not to hold the conference in our country.

However, he stated that an agreement has been reached to resolve the war in the country peacefully and the government has already made great efforts, so the conference was successfully hosted by Ethiopia.

He said that the work of promoting Ethiopia and other activities in the digital sector will be carried out widely in the conference.

He mentioned that since the conference will be attended by policy makers from different countries, private organizations and huge international institutions, Ethiopia will share its experience and learn from others.

The minister stated that Ethiopia is working on a long-term plan to bring rapid development by building a digital economy.

It is expected that the studies presented at the conference will be the starting point for the policies that will be issued regarding the Internet in the world.
