The Government Communication Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, conducted a media visit to the Dauro Zone of Southwest Ethiopia, which is blessed with tourism potential.

During today's media visit on the occasion of the Tourism Week, the Dauro Museum, which helps to promote the region's cultural and natural resources, was observed and the visitors were briefed by the Zone Management and Culture and Tourism Office about the antiquities and cultural facilities held by the museum.

The chief administrator of Dauro zone, Sadha Demse, said that the government has responded to the development and organization questions that the people have been raising for centuries.

He said that Halala Kela Resort, which was built for the country by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, has changed the image of the zone and the flow of tourism.

The chief administrator said that the area receives enough rain and is suitable for all kinds of crops and animal husbandry.

The problem of road infrastructure to the places visited in the zone is becoming a challenge for the socio-economic activity of the area, so he requested the attention of both the regional government and the federal government.

On his part, the Minister of State for Government Communication Services, Eta Seifit Kasa, stated that the mass media should use their potential in promoting tourist attractions.

The Minister of State, who pointed out that the area's blessings should be singled out, said that Dauro Zone is the owner of natural and man-made resources that should be recognized at the international level.

With the attention given to the sector by the government, they have created an opportunity for the society to benefit by expanding the development of tourism destination including Halala Kela, which is attractive in the area.
